Take a look at my reply to Nicholas Jessick.

I've been working on a series of hypotheses to better understand whether or not this is possible.

Most of my research can be found if you just search for "The STEMPrime Researchcast".

My research draws from economics (obviously), physics (thermodynamics), psychology, sociology, and machine-learning - which turns out to be vital for a properly functioning non-CBE (currency based economy). At least as far as I can tell.

Biggest discoveries are:

1) the three functions of money violate 3 of the 4 laws of thermodynamics which causes the entropy and enthalpy of our social / physical system to be amplified dramatically. This makes money the single largest contributor to global warming.

2) Anything money can do, AI can do better. This draws from the Self-Determination Theory of Intrinsic Motivation (SDT for short). In fact, using SDT in conjunction with AI is hypothetically capable of motivating far more effectively than money ever could, help people become self-actualizing, and ensure most people are actually - genuinely - happy.

3) 98% of all crime is financially motivated. Corruption is financially motivated as is war. Bad education is a byproduct of poorly handled financial motivations as is the crazy amount of bad science and scams. Pollution and spam ... I mean - the list goes on.

It's not a silver bullet - but removing money (if it's done properly) can solve a variety of humanity's ills.

you can find most of my stuff at https://stempri.me/

I've also recently joined the Moneyless Society FB group and will likely be collaborating with them in the near future - though it's not 100% yet.
